James E. Dicks Jr. is Founder and Chairman of 509 Capital Group and Founder and CEO of DIX Developments. For more than 25 years, he has focused on land acquisition, entitlement, development, and capital formation throughout Florida’s highest-growth markets.
Under his leadership, DIX Developments has grown into an integrated real estate development platform with more than 10,000 residential lots owned or controlled, over 3,000 multifamily units, and more than 5 million square feet of commercial development across Florida. His experience spans the full development lifecycle, including land acquisition, entitlement, infrastructure development, builder lot delivery, commercial development, and strategic partnerships.
In addition to his real estate activities, James founded PremiereTrade, a financial technology platform serving traders worldwide, and is a McGraw-Hill bestselling author whose books have been published internationally. A United States Marine Corps veteran, he has been recognized by the Orlando Business Journal as a Game Changer, Veteran of Influence, and one of Central Florida’s Most Influential Leaders.
Jerry Smith serves as Managing Director of 509 Capital Group and is responsible for investor relations, strategic partnerships, capital markets support, and operational oversight.
With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience, Jerry works closely with investors, lending institutions, consultants, and development partners while helping oversee investor communications, reporting, and capital formation activities across the platform.
As a senior member of the DIX Developments team for more than five years, Jerry has been involved in land development, entitlement strategy, public engagement, and project execution throughout Florida’s growth markets. His experience in leadership, operations, and stakeholder relations helps support the continued growth of both 509 Capital Group and DIX Developments.
Scott Prewitt serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development for 509 Capital Group and has worked alongside Founder James Dicks since the early 1990s. A licensed Florida Real Estate Broker for more than 30 years, Scott plays a key role in acquisitions, investor relations, project marketing, due diligence, and strategic growth initiatives across the platform.
His experience spans residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate, with involvement in land acquisition, entitlement strategy, project sales, and relationship management. Scott works closely with investors, landowners, builders, consultants, and development partners to help identify opportunities and support the advancement of projects throughout Florida’s growth markets.
In addition to his real estate experience, Scott has spent decades involved in real estate education and professional development. He is a recipient of the Department of Defense Seven Seals Award and serves as an Honorary Sheriff’s Deputy in multiple Florida counties.
